FAQS ABOUT MY SMALL WEDDINGS & ELOPEMENTS PACKAGES

WHY SHOULD WE HIRE A W.P.?

If you get married in a foreign country, you can understand that it may not be easy for you to plan every service that your big day deserves; due to the distance, you won’t be able to thoroughly check everything in real-time. Although you can certainly read reviews on the Web, you won’t be able to personally know the vendors; therefore, even if you were to travel to Italy for a wedding-planning weekend, it would probably be possible for you to only meet a handful of suppliers, and you may not be completely certain you’ve chosen the right one for you. In addition, it’s likely that you will run into the same situation if/when you ask the venue to suggest some vendors: they will probably suggest just a few vendors whom they usually work with, and whom may not be the best choices for you.  Above all, the language and cultural barrier may be an issue as well if you are not completely fluent.

Since I am an Italian-born native and resident, I understand the ins-and-outs of the Italian wedding vendor process. This allows me to have a clearer and deeper relationship with them, and to understand easily what may work or not, because I can perfectly understand your needs and take care of all of the details, making sure that the vendors execute your every wish.

Your arrival to Italy for your wedding day should be flawless; the last thing you need is to be concerned about the day-to-day logistical and timing concerns that can undoubtedly lead to unnecessary stress. With a good wedding planner who understands you and makes you feel comfortable and cared-for, you can relax and enjoy your big day!

WHAT ABOUT YOUR SERVICE FEE?

I offer “Full-Service Planning”, where I will be involved in every aspect from the beginning; starting from support with paperwork, to researching the right venue and suppliers, to coordination up until, and also on, your wedding day. My fee is a fixed fee which is based on the type of wedding you request, the number of the guests, the area, the kind of ceremony (symbolic or legal), and the number of events you would like to have in addition to the wedding day. If you would like additional services such as travel arrangements, city tours, etc.  I can recommend additional vendors as well!

IS THE PRICE OF YOUR PACKAGE....

…A REALISTIC PRICE?

The starting price of the package, which includes all the services you need on your wedding day, is based on the average price of the vendors’ services in the area where you will be getting married. By taking this into account, you’ll have a more realistic price to work with.

CAN THE PACKAGE BE CUSTOMIZED?

The package is flexible and it can be customized according to your needs during the planning process. Of course, I’ll be looking for the right vendors and will give you all the suggestions to make the right choice according to your wishes. We will work together on your Big Day! Keeping your budget in mind, I will send directly to you the vendor’s information that you will need to have. According to your budget, where possible, the professionals I work with can offer you different customized packages; you will just have to let me know what you prefer. Consider that in very few venues they ask a specific vendor for services like the catering or music (so in this case, you wouldn’t be able to choose a different vendor – he or she would come attached to the venue).

ARE THE ACCOMMODATIONS INCLUDED...

…IN YOUR PACKAGE?

Some wedding venues may not include accommodation on their premises. In this situation, you will receive the customize package for services with the venue’s fee for the ceremony and reception. If you’ll need accommodation options, I will be happy to recommend some lovely hotels, B&B, or apartments for the accommodation in the area. In case you wish to rent a venue for your exclusive use with the accommodation,  you’ll find the accommodation price in the venue’s proposal. Keep in mind that in the high season, a lot of venues (especially in Tuscany) request a minimum stay of 3 nights. In case of an elopement, I will recommend a suite, junior suite, or other kinds of interesting accommodation ( which I would suggest at least for 2 nights).

WHAT ABOUT TRANSPORTATION...

…AND HOW WE WILL BE ABLE TO GET AROUND? 

Keep in mind that if you choose a venue in the Tuscan countryside or in the Lake area, you will need a car to get around to visit places or just to reach village centres if you need some services or to buy something, because usually the venues are in isolated areas. It really depends on how many days you will stay in Italy. Usually the wedding couples arrive a few days before their guests arrive, to feel more at ease and decide the last-minute details with me, so that they rent a car from the airport to arrive at the venue. For your guests, it’s up to them: in case they stay in Italy for a few days and prefer to rent a private car at the airport, or in case they arrive as a group and they will remain just for the 2-3 nights at the venue, we can help you in booking some minivans with the driver to pick them up at the airport to bring them to the venue.

ABOUT OUR DRESSES...

HOW CAN WE TRANSPOSRT MY WEDDING DRESS AND THE GROOM’S SUIT, BRIDEMAID DRESSES ETC.?

In case you’ll need your dress/suit/etc. to be steamed before the wedding day, in some areas, if your venue is not far from a city, I can always recommend a reliable dry cleaning shop that can steam them professionally. Otherwise if you are in a hotel, (or in some villas), they usually provide a steamer where you can steam any outfits yourself.

HOW CAN WE PAY THE VENDORS?

You will be given the customized quotes in Euros, as well as contracts for every single vendor in English to be signed, to make sure everything is clear and transparent. I will give you the information about the payment procedure for each vendor. This way, you will know exactly how much you are spending for each service. Usually in Italy, the venue and the vendors request to be paid through a wire transfer or the credit card, and sometimes even with PayPal.

HOW MANY DIFFERENT OPTIONS...

…CAN YOU GIVE US FOR THE VENDORS?

Since my packages are customized, I can recommend different kind of vendors (photographers, videographers, make-up artists etc.) so the you can meet and choose the professionals that truly match your style, and make you feel at ease on your wedding day. Every vendor has been personally selected by me. My vendors are flexible and knowledgeable, they speak English, and have a years of experiences working with couples from all over the world. In addition, their prices are exactly in line with the quality of their services.

WHAT IF WE ALREADY HAVE ...

…OUR PHOTOGRAPHER OR VIDEOGRAPHER?

No problem: I’m always thrilled to cooperate with new vendors, especially ones from abroad! You will simply need to give me their contacts in order to help them and  to give them the information they may need.

HOW WILL WE CHOOSE THE MENU?

For a standard wedding reception in Italy, the proposal almost always includes: a plentiful cocktail hour with appetizers of Italian specialities after the ceremony (lasting about one hour and half), followed by a served dinner with 2 first dishes (usually pasta /ravioli/risotto/gnocchi, etc.) and 1 main course (fish or meat), and wedding cake. For the served dinner, you will have a list of first dishes and main courses to choose from.

If you know beforehand how many of your guests would prefer vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free options, or guests that may have food intollerances/allergies, please let me know beforehand, and the chef will prepare a different proposal for them.

COULD MY WEDDING CAKE...

…BE CUSTOMIZED?

Of course, without any limits! The only thing to keep in mind is that if the vendor needs to prepare a multi-tiered cake or a cake with a particular decoration, he/she may request an extra charge to be paid. ARE FLOWERS INCLUDED...

…IN YOUR PACKAGE?

I prefer not to include the flower decorations in the package, because flowers are a very customized service, and the price can vary according to the kind of flowers, the color, the seasonality and the style of the decorations you choose. During our planning process, you will send me the photos of bridal bouquets that you like and of the flower decorations for the ceremony and the reception, and then I’ll ask the flower designers that I work with for their best possible quotes.

WHAT IS THE SIAE TAX?

SIAE is an Italian organization that collects the tax due for the use of musical works of artists and musicians protected by copyright, and redistributes it to the rightful owners and their publishers. It’s a mandatory tax: without a SIAE permit, you become eligible to have an inspection, and SIAE inspectors will apply onerous penalties as set by Italian law. The tax price depends on the type of location, number of guests and  type of entertainment (meaning if you will have dancing at your reception or not). MAY WE TALK TOTHE DJ ...

…TO DECIDE THE MUSIC FOR OUR WEDDING?

Yes! The music for the wedding is an important focal point! If you wish, I’ll put you in contact with the DJ, and you speak directly with him, explaining the kind of music you’d prefer and about those special songs you’ll want played at certain times throughout your wedding.

HOW CAN WE WORK WITH AN OFFICIANT ...

…FOR THE SYMBOLIC CEREMONY?

If you choose to have a symbolic wedding, I will put you directly in touch with one of my reliable and discreet English-speaking officiants. With the Officiant’s suggestions, you will customize the entire ceremony, the vows, the exchange of the rings etc. Or, if you prefer, you can ask another person chosen among your family or friends to be the Officiant, for a more personal touch.

CAN WE HAVE A LEGAL ...

…CEREMONY IN ITALY?

If you choose to have a legally-binding wedding, the ceremony will be held by the Mayor at the Town Hall or in a a venue which has the permission from the authorities (not all venues have this permission; I can advise you about which do and don’t). In this situation, I will help you with the paperwork assistance (I rely on an expert advisor for foreign weddings to make sure that evething is correct), which will depend on your nationality. Keep in mind that you will need to be in Italy a few days before getting married in order to take care of these formalities. We can provide the interpreter service, and in case of elopement, 2 witnesses as requested by law.

CAN WE ORGANIZE FESTIVITIES...

Can we organize festivities the day before or day after with you (for example, a brunch or rehearsal dinner the day before, a lunch the day after, or spa services and activities that we and our guests can partake in for the days that we are there?) 

Yes! To get married in Italy is not just to have a wedding, but it’s a chance to create amazing experiences for you and your guests! Usually for destination weddings, they request a 3 night stay. On the first day (the arrival day), you have many different options, like organizing a wine tasting followed by a BBQ or a pizza or pasta party. On the second day, usually there’s the wedding, so in the morning your guests can relax by a swimming pool, or we can organize an activity for them followed by a light lunch. On the third day, supposing you will get up later, a brunch could be a nice option. If you stay more nights with a few of your guests , we could organize a cooking lesson, a city tour, a boat tour on the lake, or a horse riding in the countryside. Really, there are so many options, so the sky’s the limit!!

GIFTS FOR OUR GUESTS...

Could you help us pick out small gifts for our guests, maybe with an Italian flair? 

Yes, I’d be happy to help you, and surely these will be much appreciated by your guests! We can provide customized organic olive oils or limoncello wedding favours for your guests, or anything else that you’d like. The size of the little bottles allows them to be brought by your guests on their return flights. Of course there are also many other options, and since every Italian region offers different crafted products, you will only have to choose what you’d like the most!

WHICH SEASON/PERIOD ...

…WOULD YOU SUGGEST AS THE BEST PERIOD FOR AN OUTDOOR WEDDING? 

When couples decide to tie the knot in Italy, most of them usually want an outdoor wedding to take advantage of our stunning landscapes. For this, the best periods are from mid-May to mid-October for an outdoor ceremony. Keep in mind that for the reception, if you wish to also have an outdoor dinner, it would be better from June to mid-September.
